Crew cabin conditions on the Lagoon 42, Lagoon 46, Lagoon 40, and Hanse Yachts 508 are compared from the perspective of a charter skipper deciding where to sleep. Nick crawls into each hull compartment on camera to demonstrate the reality: the Lagoon 42 and 46 crew cabins are nearly identical in height, offer no standing room, no bathroom access without entering a guest cabin, and no air conditioning.1:21 The Lagoon 40 cabin is smaller still — Nick spent a week on a hammock rather than sleep in it.8:17 The Hanse Yachts 508 Brightfuture's dedicated skipper cabin is larger, allows standing, includes a sink, and has a separate toilet accessible without crossing a guest cabin, making it the only arrangement Nick considers acceptable.4:22 On the Lagoon 46 and 50, some configurations pair a crew cabin on one hull with a crew bathroom on the other, which he rates as a minimum workable setup.7:56 45 Degrees Sailing's policy is that any chartered skipper must have a full cabin with bathroom access; the hull compartments are used for luggage or fenders.9:37 No air conditioning reaches any of these spaces, and heat in season makes them unlivable.6:06
