The crew of the Swan 47 S&S *Saga* completed a circumnavigation of Newfoundland, Canada, during a 2023 North Atlantic cruise.Watch After departing Ireland and crossing to St. John’s, the vessel traveled north along the east coast, stopping at Trinity Bay, Old Perlican, Traytown, Trinity Harbour, Catalina Harbour, Bonavista, Sandwich Harbour, Fogo Island, Twillingate, and the French coast.1:22 The crew utilized radar to navigate through thick fog and icebergs in the region known as Iceberg Alley.7:09 They continued north to St. Anthony and Garden Cove to visit Viking historical sites before heading down the west coast.10:48 The return passage proved challenging due to prevailing winds and the outflowing current of the St. Lawrence River.12:47 Key stops on the west coast included Port-au-Choix, Cow Head, and Bonne Bay, where the crew hiked Gros Morne Mountain.14:46 The voyage concluded with an overnight passage from the Bay of Islands to the Magdalen Islands.17:18
