The Beneteau Oceanis 55 is a fractional sloop with a fin bulb and spade rudder, designed by Berret-Racoupeau and built by Beneteau from 2013 to the present. It measures 16.8 meters LOA, with a 5.0-meter beam and a 2.2-meter draft, displacing 16695 kg. The model features optional twin rudders and shallow draft options, including a 1.80-meter draft with 4960 kg of ballast or a very shallow 1.45-meter draft with 11677 lbs of ballast. Its sail plan includes a 67.0 m2 classic mainsail, a 72.0 m2 105% genoa, and a 200 m2 asymmetric spinnaker.
