A couple living aboard their sailboat in the United States installs a 12,000 BTU 12-volt air conditioning system sourced from Alibaba to combat high humidity and heat.8:02 The unit features a variable-speed compressor that draws approximately 60 amps at full capacity and drops to 30 amps once the target temperature is reached.8:27 Installation requires drilling a new through-hull for the water pump, running 2-0 electrical cable to the battery bus bar, and vacuuming the system before charging it with refrigerant.10:35 The owners also replace a leaking 12-volt fridge with a dual-compartment variable-speed model and convert a manual marine toilet to an electric system using a Seaflow conversion kit.5:41 Additionally, they attempt to install a telescopic saloon table leg, though the initial unit fails due to poor welds and requires a return.15:25 The air conditioning system is controlled via the Tuya app, allowing for remote operation and temperature adjustments.18:16 Proper installation of marine appliances requires careful attention to electrical loads, plumbing, and system charging.
