An inspection of an Albin Cirrus 78 reveals a solid, manageable project boat for a prospective buyer. The hull shows no signs of structural damage, with clean keel bolts and a well-constructed keel attachment.2:48 While the engine compartment contains some oil, the installation appears sound for a single-cylinder diesel.1:35 The cockpit design offers good protection with high backrests and self-draining benches, providing more space than comparable models like the H-boat or IF.5:43

Key maintenance items include replacing aging hoses, addressing gelcoat cracks around high-load areas like the mast step and winches, and upgrading the electrical system.6:51 The exterior through-hull fittings require attention, specifically replacing old plastic components.8:10 The outboard-mounted rudder shows no immediate structural issues, and the self-tailing winches on the cabin top simplify single-handed sailing.4:12 The buyer plans to perform incremental repairs over several seasons to restore the vessel.10:14 The overall condition, combined with the seller’s transparency, indicates a favorable purchase opportunity at the 90,000 NOK price point.12:49
