The crew of SV Delos performs two major maintenance projects while anchored in a tropical location. First, they troubleshoot a low-voltage alarm and discover two faulty battery connectors that effectively halved their usable capacity.14:24 Replacing these connectors restores the bank to its full 400 amp-hour capacity.14:37 Second, the crew installs a diesel-powered hydronic heating system to prepare for colder climates.15:44 This project requires routing 19mm heater hose through seven bulkheads and existing air ducts to connect fan-heater units to a central boiler.17:53 The team utilizes a dry bilge system to pull the hoses through the vessel's interior.19:15 Additionally, the crew experiments with long-duration time-lapse photography using a GoPro housed in a custom-vented, sun-reflective box to prevent overheating during 72-hour recording sessions.11:22 The project concludes with the successful installation of the heating lines and the resolution of the electrical system fault.
