The owners of a catamaran under construction are preparing the vessel's interior for final painting after a month-long delay caused by winter weather and surface contamination.0:07 During a cold snap, the boat’s interior temperatures dropped into the high 40s, forcing the crew to rely on space heaters and electric blankets.0:22 A previously painted head required re-cleaning and re-priming after dust from the overhead settled on the fresh finish, prompting a shift in strategy to prepare all interior surfaces to a final primer stage before applying any topcoats.1:33 Current work involves wet sanding, fairing, and priming the V-berth, galley, and bridge deck areas.7:44 The crew is using TotalBoat high-build primer and Alexseal finish primer, noting that the latter requires a final sand within 96 hours of painting.6:13 The project remains in the sanding and fairing phase, with plans to incorporate accent colors on specific bulkheads and finish the salon and galley cabinetry once temperatures allow for consistent curing.4:33
