Chilu and Ezequiel, currently based in Puerto Rico, have suspended their search for a sailboat after a planned purchase fell through.3:20 The couple intended to buy a specific vessel in Puerto Rico to begin a sailing journey, but the deal collapsed unexpectedly, leaving them without a boat and facing a looming October deadline when their United States visa expires.11:19 They previously paused the purchase to avoid the peak hurricane season, intending to return to the island to finalize the transaction.7:56

The pair remains in Puerto Rico due to its logistical advantages, specifically the ability to sail south toward Aruba or Curaçao within three days to escape hurricane-prone waters.19:00 They rejected Miami as an alternative search location due to high living costs and the lack of a rapid escape route from hurricane paths.17:53 To manage their workload, they have hired an editor to assist with video production and announced a temporary hiatus from YouTube to prioritize securing a boat and resolving their immigration status.26:16 They intend to resume regular content production once their living situation stabilizes.
