Two builders — Grace in a 2021 Toyota Tundra with a GFC V2 camper, Chad in an F-150 with a GFC V1 — complete parallel Victron mini electrical system builds over two days using only 6 AWG wire throughout.0:10 The uniform wire gauge eliminates the need to track multiple wire sizes and reduces the tool count compared to larger systems; no heavy battery lug crimper is required.35:34 Grace mounts her Victron components on a MOLLE panel with a wood backer board; Chad mounts his inside a Milwaukee Packout box for a removable, portable power system.0:41 Both use a Victron Orion XS for alternator charging, wired from the starting battery through a 60-amp circuit breaker.25:12 Grace uses a Tiger Expedition UFO 200 as her distribution panel; Chad uses a different safety hub.4:26 The system includes a 270 Ah lithium battery, an 800-watt inverter, a solar charge controller, and a 30-amp DC shore power charger.9:56 All ferrule terminals are required except on the Orion XS.7:32 Programming uses Victron Connect app with Explorers Life cheat sheets.26:43 All three charging sources — solar, alternator, and shore power — confirm functional at first power-on.31:12 The all-6-AWG constraint trades raw capacity for simplicity, making the kit accessible to first-time installers.35:17
