Damien and Alina construct custom bunk beds and storage cabinetry inside the former fishing trawler Brupeg. To accommodate a standard 188cm mattress length, the crew shifts a structural bulkhead 100mm aft, securing it to the hull ribs using laminated pine blocks and 8mm threaded rod.6:12 They template the bunk bases and lee boards using 4mm plywood, incorporating cutouts for storage and a dip in the lee board to prevent the edge from jabbing the occupant's knees.13:21 The finishing process involves filling low spots with epoxy fairing compound, applying Jodomastic 90 high-build epoxy primer, and sanding with 240-grit paper before finishing with Hardtop Ultra gloss white paint.15:47 While anchored at Magnetic Island and later docked at Townsville Marina, the crew also installs a folding desk and prepares the cabin for a 170-mile passage to Cairns.16:02 During the final preparations in Townsville, a crew member installs and configures a new B&G autopilot system.28:08
