A weekend work party aboard Arabella, a wooden boat docked at Harwichport, tackled a long list of interior and deck projects with returning crew members Bill, David, Jeff, and others. The aft hatch received trim, hinges, a gasket, a mushroom vent, and a hold-down; butyl tape sealed the vent base and 10-24 pan-head machine screws replaced unavailable silicon bronze fasteners.9:34 A deck leak under the propane tank was traced to the forward cockpit flange area, roughly 10–12 inches to port.2:52 The gray water tank was vented into the composting toilet vent line.0:36 A hot water heater was brought online; battery testing at the dock showed a drop from 100% to 86% overnight with normal usage plus the heater running.23:31 A fiberglass-reinforced panel was templated and cut to line the hanging locker in the fore peak, preventing condensation on bronze straps from wetting stored clothing.14:47 A drainage hole was drilled through the controls box to clear pooled water behind the gasket plate.9:51 A visitor explained the function and rigging of a pigsticker — a turned wooden spar flown above the masthead to display ensigns, burgees, or class flags, and usable as a Windex.16:01 Rain prevented any deck oiling, tiller work, or work on the dinghy Victoria.21:24 Wet weather forced several items off the list, but Steve judged the completed work a solid outcome given conditions.23:09
