The crew of Oceanaire | Wik & Rox performs several interior and exterior maintenance projects while docked in a marina in Sicily. Wik installs a Whale grey water tank, which requires drilling through a 20-centimeter beam and a 10-centimeter wall to route 40mm shower drain, 25mm pump, and 19mm vent hoses.1:12 He replaces an old head with a 24-volt Tecma porcelain toilet, modifying the polyester bulkhead to recess the unit eight centimeters further back.12:35 To manage the voltage difference between the boat’s 12-volt system and the new 24-volt toilet, he wires batteries in a temporary series-parallel configuration.12:13 Additionally, Wik installs a True Design three-way valve to allow switching between direct overboard discharge and the holding tank.13:22 Meanwhile, Rox sands and refinishes the cockpit table, applying a water-repellent coating after cleaning the wood.13:49 The crew also cleans and treats the teak decking with oxalic acid and a protective sealant.10:34
