Ben and MP install a rainwater collection system on the roof of their sailboat, Yabá, while the vessel is on the hard. To guide runoff toward a drainage hole, they epoxy wooden battens along the sides of the cabin top, using a router to shape the drainage points and a heat gun to dry the surface before application.15:49 The project includes painting the transom with primer and matte polyurethane paint to eliminate glare, as well as rebuilding the helm area into modular storage hatches for nautical charts and electronics.7:54 The crew also works on the engine’s saltwater cooling system, cutting and fitting hoses to the exhaust and gearbox.6:33 The rainwater system relies on the natural slope of the roof to channel water into a collection tank, with the battens serving to minimize spillage during light rain.24:12
