The AirHead composting toilet separates liquid and solid waste to eliminate odors and reduce marine pollution.0:12 The system uses a downward-angled bowl to divert liquids into a removable container, while solids fall into a chamber filled with peat moss, cocoa fiber, or sawdust.0:33 An internal agitator, operated by a hand crank, mixes the solids to facilitate decomposition.0:47 A small 12-volt computer fan draws 0.06 amps per hour to vent the chamber, creating a garden-like scent rather than sewage odors.0:54 For two full-time users, the solid waste container requires emptying approximately once per month, while the liquid container needs more frequent disposal.1:36 Installation requires only two stainless steel brackets per container, eliminating the need for hoses, vacuum pumps, or holding tanks.2:16 The unit costs $1,095.5:19 Maintenance involves occasional cleaning with vinegar or diluted bleach, provided the hatch remains closed to protect the composting bacteria.3:27
