The owner of the pocket catamaran Squib performs electrical maintenance and cabin upgrades while preparing for a social event. To resolve a loose connection issue on a Victron solar charge controller, the owner replaces thick 6mm² wires with 4mm² cables, which fit more securely into the terminals.2:21 He also relocates a fuse block to provide direct protection for the heavy-gauge cables running from the lithium iron phosphate batteries.2:47 Additionally, he removes redundant wiring previously used for a diesel heater and installs conduit clamps to organize electrical runs, ensuring space remains for future gas line installation.6:19 To prevent overcharging the lithium batteries during long periods of inactivity, the crew fabricates custom fabric covers for the solar panels.11:34 These covers feature elastic cords and grommets for secure attachment, allowing the panels to be shielded when the boat is unattended.15:55 The project concludes with minor interior carpentry, including the installation of trim strips around the forward windows.8:32
