Tadeu Cardoso gives a hands-on rope-management lesson aboard the sailboat, demonstrating how to coil, store, and maintain lines so they are ready for immediate use.0:34 The core rule he repeats: never leave lines in a tangled heap — always coil them and hang or stow them where they will run free when needed.1:16 He shows how to check that a line is loose and clear before deploying it, and how to remove twists from a line before coiling, because a twisted coil jams under load.5:18 A tangled or kinked line is condemned as a safety hazard and should be replaced.5:22 He also covers keeping halyards and sheets organized at their cleats and cars so a sailor can release them instantly without hunting. Tadeu closes with a personal lesson: he once failed to coil a line correctly, it fouled, and Sinomar Godois Tavares was thrown — the sea, he says, punishes sloppy work immediately.5:55 A properly coiled and stowed line is not cosmetic; it is the difference between a controlled maneuver and a dangerous one.
