The crew of Miss Lone Star performs maintenance on their vessel while anchored in Mexico, focusing on reinforcing the davits and applying varnish to the exterior woodwork. To support the davits where they meet the deck, the crew visits a local wood shop to fabricate custom supports.2:19 They apply TotalBoat varnish to the rub rails and trim, noting that the product is thicker than the previously used SeaTall, which requires slower application and careful brush work to avoid splotching.9:24 The crew also maintains their Highfield dinghy and explores local areas, including Bucerias for coffee and a trip to Quimixto to observe surf conditions.5:24 While the crew manages daily boat projects, they also navigate the challenges of documenting their long-term cruising lifestyle.10:54
