Demographic shifts, including baby boomers exiting the sport, and a post-pandemic influx of owners leaving due to high maintenance and storage fees, have further increased supply. For example, seasonal dockage at Toronto’s Outer Harbor Marina reached $154 per foot in 2026. While purchase prices remain low, prospective buyers must prioritize inspections of cored decks for moisture and keel bolts for corrosion. Buyers currently hold significant leverage in the 30- to 40-foot segment, as evidenced by widespread price reductions on brokerage sites like Yacht World.
