Yona and her partner Shae put their sailboat Holo Holo in storage for the season and spent summer 2023 on a land loop through the western United States and into Arizona, traveling by truck and trailer.Watch The route ran from Arizona north through Nevada to Northern California, then to Mount Shasta, Oregon, and the Redwood Forest before looping back south through eastern Oregon, northern Nevada, Utah, and Arizona.0:14 In Oregon they worked two camp-host stints — one near a flower farm and one as maintenance hosts at Silver Falls State Park, where they installed non-slip strips on boardwalks, cut lumber, varnished, and fixed windowsills.7:24 A leaking RV front window required full removal, framing, and resealing after rot was found inside; they also replaced the trailer's converter, wired it to the panel, and planned a lithium battery installation.5:16 In Utah's Valley of the Gods, another vehicle drove over one of their solar panels, cutting onboard power in half during the solar eclipse.12:33 Rock hunting in Nevada turned up opals.11:22 After 25 days off-grid traveling from Oregon to Arizona, they reached Tubac, stored the trailer, and headed to Mexico to rejoin Holo Holo.15:30
