The crew of the 45-ft vessel *Calypso* prepares for a departure to the tropics by performing maintenance, installing security hardware, and provisioning. To address persistent electrolysis on the starboard side, they hire a professional electrician to inspect the boat’s bonding system and check for stray current in the water; the inspection reveals no faults, confirming the electrical system is well-organized.9:08 The owner also investigates a suspected transmission oil leak by cleaning the housing and performing a "penalty run"—operating the engine at 80% load for 30 minutes—to monitor for fluid loss.11:06

Additional upgrades include installing a four-camera GW Security system with a wireless receiver and hard drive for monitoring the salon, cockpit, and interior spaces.4:49 The crew also replaces tarnished Weems and Plath cockpit instruments through a trade-in program.1:29 Finally, the crew stocks the boat with four months of dry goods, including bulk paper products and toiletries, utilizing storage space beneath the master berth.14:42
