The crew of the Sunreef 62 *Supernova* completes a series of critical repairs and modifications in a Portuguese port to meet a strict departure deadline. After a work boat collision caused minor cosmetic damage to the hull vinyl, the crew confirms the structural integrity of the vessel. They replace a faulty solenoid in the autopilot system and install a new forestay toggle extension to restore the standing rigging. To prepare for a transit through waters known for orca interactions, the crew fabricates and installs custom "orca poles" designed to emit sound as a deterrent. They also upgrade the electrical system by installing additional 48-volt batteries, which requires cutting metal supports and fiberglassing new crossbeams in the port forward cabin. Although a missing parcel prevents the completion of all planned upgrades, the crew decides to depart immediately to avoid overstaying their visa. They successfully clear their berth after nearby fishing vessels move, allowing for a safe exit from the dock.
