The Bavaria Yachts 42 is a 13.4-meter fractional sloop designed by J&J Yacht Design and built by Bavaria Yachts between 1998 and 2001. It features a fin keel with a bulb and a spade rudder, a 1.9-meter draft, and displaces 8400 kg. The model was available with a shallow draft option of 1.65 meters and multiple sail configurations, including a furling mainsail (37.5 sqm) or a battened mainsail (44.5 sqm), alongside a 62 sqm genoa.
