Yvette and Darcy are refitting a 36-year-old catamaran named Supernova to prepare for a circumnavigation.0:21 The two-year project includes replacing through-hulls, seacocks, and a prop shaft, alongside applying six layers of barrier coat and three layers of bottom paint.1:16 The crew installed a custom lithium battery bank, replaced the windlass, and upgraded to an NMEA 2000 radar system integrated into a chart plotter.24:14 Interior renovations involve replacing saloon windows, installing a new fridge, and rebuilding the galley, including a new sink and countertop.6:27 The pair also modified a second-hand hardtop bimini by cutting it in half and fiberglassing a new center panel to fit the boat's beam.46:17 They are currently reupholstering the saloon seating using Sunbrella fabric.53:58 While anchored near an uninhabited island north of Vancouver, the crew addressed a diesel leak from a fuel hose and repaired a water tank leak.39:09 The project remains ongoing as they transition from the refit phase to a planned voyage from Vancouver to Alaska.56:17
