The crew motors the entire distance across the Sea of Cortez to maintain a schedule and avoid steep, short-period seas, stopping briefly at Bahia de los Muertos to time their arrival for daylight transit through the narrow San Lorenzo Canal.7:04 Upon reaching La Paz, the vessel anchors in the crowded Magote anchorage, where strong tidal currents and wind cause the boat to swing 180 degrees, a phenomenon locally known as the "La Paz Waltz."20:00 To manage proximity to neighboring boats, the owner shortens the anchor chain from 300 feet to 250 feet and prepares a stern anchor for emergency deployment.21:28 The vessel remains in the anchorage while awaiting lighter winds before moving to a marina slip.22:18
