The sailor repairs a corroded windlass button at the bow before exploring the local coastline, including a white sand beach on a nearby island. Foraging for local produce like limes supplements the galley stores. The sailor plans to remain in French Polynesia for up to two years under a long-stay visa, balancing ongoing boat maintenance with coastal cruising and snorkeling. The vessel, a Beneteau Oceanis 510, serves as the base for these operations as the crew prepares for a subsequent passage to the Tuamotus.
