The crew of the aluminum catamaran *Delos 2* completes the installation of closed-cell polyurethane spray foam insulation throughout the vessel’s interior. The team utilizes a two-part chemical system—polyol and isocyanate—mixed at the nozzle of a spray gun to provide thermal and acoustic insulation, as well as buoyancy.2:19 The foam, which weighs 32 kilograms per cubic meter, serves as a vapor barrier and is expected to significantly improve the efficiency of the boat's heating and air conditioning systems.3:41 While the spray application is faster than installing hand-cut foam sheets, the process requires extensive masking of conduits, hoses, and structural surfaces to prevent overspray.14:13 Following the application, the crew spends significant time removing tape and plastic sheeting, and trimming excess foam.17:18 Simultaneously, the host aligns the starboard electric motor and stern tube, using a custom-machined spacer to center the prop shaft within the fiberglass housing before preparing for a Chockfast pour.15:25
