Matt and Jessica of MJ Sailing visit the Newport International Boat Show to finalize interior design choices for their catamaran build, specifically evaluating finishes, lighting, and layout configurations.0:26 They inspect various production catamarans and monohulls to compare overhead materials, cabinet hardware, and air conditioning placement strategies.6:06 The pair notes the use of fabric versus vinyl headliners, semi-gloss versus flat wall finishes, and the integration of custom cubbies for storage.9:25 They also preview the EmpirBus NXT digital switching system, which will feature customizable labels and multi-function controls on their vessel.10:49 Following the show, they visit the Total Boat headquarters in Bristol, Rhode Island, to restock on resin and fairing compounds.15:17 The visit highlights the logistical scale of marine supply distribution and provides a final opportunity to source materials before returning to their build in Annapolis.16:00 The couple plans to apply these design observations to their ongoing construction, prioritizing a balance between aesthetic finish and ease of maintenance.
