Hva denne videoen dekker

The crew of the sailboat Uma upgrades their onboard plumbing and installs a new marine hot water tank while wintering in Norway.1:16 After a previous DIY hot water system failed due to electrical incompatibility and freezing temperatures, they replaced it with a sealed marine unit plumbed into the v-berth.1:19 The new system includes a Parmax 4 saltwater washdown pump and a variable-RPM SensorMax pump for the head, which reduces noise during operation.2:17 Freshwater is routed through a carbon filter before entering the hot water tank, which is set to 42 degrees Celsius to prevent scalding.2:49 To prepare for future remote cruising, the crew also modifies a storage space under a pilot berth to accommodate a forthcoming water maker.11:00 This installation requires cutting a larger access hatch and reinforcing a bulkhead by grinding away old paint and applying new fiberglass and epoxy.11:11 Because ambient temperatures reach minus 17 degrees Celsius, the crew uses heaters to maintain the epoxy's consistency during the structural repairs.15:53
