The crew of the 38-ft sailboat Namasté navigates the waters of Guadeloupe, facing challenging weather and technical repairs while exploring the island. After a period of strong southerly winds, a sudden shift to northerly winds at the Bas-du-Fort marina causes multiple vessels to drag anchor, forcing the crew to secure their boat and assist others.1:04 Following a fresh bottom cleaning, the crew sails to Les Saintes, where they initially anchor in the bay off Terre-de-Haut before moving to a mooring buoy near Pain de Sucre to escape heavy swell.5:09 During the passage, a boom fitting at the gooseneck fails, requiring temporary repairs with rivets.3:12 The crew later relocates to Rivière Sens to stage inland excursions, including hikes to the Saut de la Lézarde waterfall, the Canyon Moustique, and the Soufrière volcano.6:48 Despite heavy rain and gusty conditions, they complete these hikes before moving to Malendure to snorkel at the Réserve Cousteau, preparing for a subsequent passage to the BVI.14:30
