The crew also faces a potential change in refit plans; they intended to sail to Guatemala for repairs but discovered that Guatemala’s high-risk rabies status complicates future travel, as many subsequent destinations require a six-month residency in a low-risk country before entry. They are currently evaluating alternative locations to complete their boat refit while avoiding hurricane season conflicts.
