Jibsea arrived in Antigua after a difficult upwind sail from the island's west side, eventually bypassing a swell-exposed anchorage to settle in Falmouth Harbour.0:06 The crew reports a melted battery switch that caused a total power loss, forcing them to bypass the switch temporarily while seeking a replacement.6:19 Maintenance tasks include replacing a lost Windex wind indicator with a new Mark 2 version, which requires drilling two new mounting holes in the masthead.14:58 The crew also identified a severely rusted chain link near their stainless steel Kong swivel, which they attribute to galvanic corrosion caused by an increased amount of stainless steel components in their anchoring system.2:31 To address this, they plan to cut the damaged link and monitor the chain for further degradation.5:50 While in the area, they hiked a 2.5-mile loop between Falmouth Harbour and English Harbour, visiting the historic Nelson's Dockyard.10:02 They also attempted to purchase roti at a local vendor, only to find the shop sold out by mid-afternoon.13:33
