A recurring engine oil leak on the Lazy Geckos' boat gets resolved when Jeremiah installs a replacement part — an o-ring seal that required heavy lubrication and careful stretching onto a thick shaft.0:43 The repair holds through a three-to-four-hour ICW transit at full power, confirming the fix.3:09 During the same passage, Jeremiah discovers a second leak: a split hose downstream of the heat exchanger on the hot-water-heater return line, which he temporarily patches with rescue tape before planning a full coolant flush and hose replacement at a marina.4:41 The watermaker upgrade also gets its first post-haul-out test: running on solar alone, the system produces 55 gallons in two hours while the battery bank climbs from 95% to 100% — compared to roughly 18 gallons per two hours with the previous Spectra unit.5:57 The crew anchors in a tight, shallow cove just north of Fort Lauderdale near Delray Beach, Florida, with room for about two boats and dinghy access to a park, Publix, restaurants, and a beach half a mile away.6:54 Ashore, the family visits a local discovery center ($10 per person for ages three and up) and an old-school arcade ($15 per hour).8:11 Doing your own oil changes surfaces secondary leaks you would otherwise miss.
