Victron MultiPlus inverter-chargers use spring-clamp terminals for AC-in and AC-out connections, and inserting wire into them is difficult without a specific technique.Watch Stranded wire is too floppy to push past the internal spring clamp unaided; ferrules are too fat to fit; even the pin terminals supplied in Nate's wiring kits only work part of the time.0:39 The fix: insert a small flathead screwdriver into the small rectangular hole directly above the terminal, press down and inward firmly to lift the spring clamp, slide the wire in, then withdraw the screwdriver to let the clamp drop onto the wire and lock it in place.0:57 Reversing the process — screwdriver in, wire out — releases the connection.1:11 The same rectangular hole serves both insertion and extraction.0:51 Nate notes the screwdriver requires firm pressure but poses no risk of breaking the terminal.1:34 The technique applies regardless of whether bare stranded wire, pin terminals, or another termination type is used.0:45
