To prepare for a three-month Bahamas passage, the crew of Doodles upgrades several systems and installs a custom dinghy storage cradle on the foredeck. The project involves building a raised wooden cradle to accommodate a new dive compressor underneath, securing the structure with stainless steel ratchet straps and deck screws.12:15 The crew installs a new outboard motor on the dinghy, drilling the transom for mounting bolts and connecting throttle and shifter cables to a control quadrant.12:46 Additional maintenance includes replacing a sun-damaged spinnaker turtle bag with a new Precision Sails model, installing a Mantis Marine anchor, and clearing a clogged raw-water strainer to restore the salon air conditioning.0:31 The dinghy is hoisted onto the deck using the spinnaker halyard for mechanical advantage.7:18 The crew also secures four dive tanks to the mizzen mast gallows using stainless steel ratchet straps.6:14
