The crew of Jibsea departs Antigua for an overnight passage to Île Fourchue, a small, uninhabited island near St. Barts.9:11 After experiencing rolly conditions at an anchorage in Barbuda, the crew decides to move to avoid a four-day wait for favorable winds.9:02 They execute a 12-hour, 10-to-13-knot downwind sail using a code zero, which had been recently patched in St. Martin.9:41 During the transit, the crew monitors the sail for chafing and manages speed to ensure a daylight arrival at the mooring field.11:31 Upon reaching Île Fourchue, they secure to a mooring ball in a bay known for rolling, though conditions remain manageable in light winds.16:22 The island, a protected marine reserve, features rugged, cactus-covered terrain and clear waters populated by sea turtles.17:01 After a one-day stay, the crew departs for St. Martin to restock provisions and begin a scheduled boat project.18:45
