Upon arrival in Montevideo, the crew completes mandatory customs and port entry paperwork. The final leg to Punta del Este involves navigating waters where the Río de la Plata meets the Atlantic Ocean, a location marked by a visible change in water density and salinity. The trip serves as a training exercise for the crew’s long-term goal of circumnavigation. Practical experience with night watches and managing port entry bureaucracy provides essential preparation for extended offshore passages.
