During the inaugural Chasing Bubbles regatta in the British Virgin Islands, the crew of the sailboat Escapade participated in three days of racing between Scrub Island, Norman Island, and Nanny Cay. During the second leg, a sudden gust caused the boat to heel sharply, dipping the gennaker into the water and forcing the crew to douse the sail after a pin failed.5:10 In the final leg, the co-host fell overboard while preparing the spinnaker in light winds; the host successfully recovered him by turning the boat without adjusting the sails, allowing him to climb back aboard via the stern.15:09 The regatta included unconventional challenges via the Sea People app, such as holding the boat in position by reversing at 1500 RPM.16:37 The event concluded at Nanny Cay Marina, where participants gathered for awards and a ceremony honoring the legacy of Alex Rust and the Chasing Bubbles Foundation.17:49 The crew finished the regatta with two third-place results.22:02 Man-overboard recovery in light air is simplified by the ability to maneuver the vessel without complex sail adjustments.14:52
