Aboard the 38-ft sailboat Cosmo, owners Armand and Liya troubleshoot a failed high-performance Starlink system while anchored at Las Rocas on Isla Coronado in Bahia de los Angeles.3:03 The system, previously converted to a 12-volt power setup, began cutting out intermittently without a clear cause, such as voltage spikes or weather.7:05 The crew attempted to repair the proprietary Starlink cable connections and replaced a custom power-over-ethernet junction box, but the dish failed to power on consistently.9:06 After failing to restore a stable connection, the crew sailed back to the village of Bahia de los Angeles to access shore-based Wi-Fi and investigate shipping options for replacement parts.11:09 During the transit, they encountered 22-knot gusts and successfully managed the conditions by reefing the mainsail early.11:59 The crew plans to use local infrastructure to open a support ticket or arrange a delivery, as Starlink’s standard shipping estimates exceed their desired timeline.13:20
