Refitting the interior of the boat involves constructing and finishing custom storage and flooring components. The project includes building a small storage drawer for the chart table area, which requires custom shaping to fit the hull's curvature and an internal notch to clear existing electrical wiring. Flooring panels are cut to size, sanded, and sealed with two coats of paint to protect the wood from potential spills or oil leaks, with plans to install linoleum as a final surface. To secure the cabin layout, a cabinet door is fitted with a simple latch to prevent accidental opening while underway. Additionally, two wooden side pieces are fabricated for the companionway descent to provide extra security and prevent slipping. All wooden surfaces, including the new drawer and floorboards, receive multiple coats of paint for moisture protection and a uniform finish. The work prepares the vessel for the upcoming installation of the engine, fuel system, and battery bank.3:56
