Javi replaces Regina's aging fiberglass-hulled inflatable dinghy with a new aluminum-hulled rigid inflatable bought in the Canary Islands.0:29 The old dinghy, purchased secondhand in Greece, had become too damaged to repair and was given to a neighbor named Plamen.0:02 The new dinghy weighs 12 kilograms less than the old one, which Javi expects to improve planing performance given the same outboard power — the boat's existing 6-horsepower motor, versus the 5-horsepower rating marked on the new hull's packaging. The unboxing reveals new oars as well, replacing a pair that had deteriorated. Javi and Mónica hoist the dinghy onto Regina's davits, and the reduced weight is immediately noticeable during the lift. The inflatable tube on the new model is slightly thicker than the old one. The outboard has not yet been tested on the new dinghy at the point the account ends. A separate canoe purchase is also mentioned but not yet delivered.
