The owner of an Island Spirit yacht attempts to test a new top-down furling spinnaker from Precision Sails while anchored near Koh Samui, Thailand.6:23 Because the sail was incorrectly rigged to furl from both the top and bottom simultaneously rather than top-down, a large bubble formed in the center of the sail when the wind increased.8:38 As the sail expanded and became uncontrollable, the crew lowered it, resulting in half of the spinnaker falling into the water.9:08 The crew used the boat's engines to reverse and retrieve the submerged sail.10:25 The owner identifies the error as a failure to attach the tack to the furling unit, which would have allowed the tack to spin freely and enabled a proper top-down furl.11:53 The vessel required a fuel delivery of 200 liters via jerry cans from the Island Spirit factory team to prepare for a delivery passage to Pattaya.5:39
