Micha arrives at the Ramin shipyard in Barth, Germany, to haul out his boat, X-Trip, after five years and 20,000 nautical miles of sailing. The transit to the shipyard involves navigating through dense fog in the Bodden region, where he anchors in 3.4 meters of water on a sand and silt bottom. Upon arrival at the shipyard, the haul-out schedule faces delays due to a sudden snowfall and a local public holiday, which prevent the use of heavy equipment on slippery surfaces. Once conditions improve, the crew removes the mast using a crane and subsequently lifts the vessel onto a cradle. An initial inspection of the hull reveals significant marine growth on the rudder and saildrive, along with minor damage to the keel from a previous grounding on rocks. The owner plans to spend four weeks at the shipyard performing maintenance and repairs, while also coordinating sail repairs with a local sailmaker.
