Brett and Jade Evans, currently docked in Barcelona, are performing boat maintenance and upgrades while living aboard their vessel. The couple is replacing their canvas dodger and bimini with a custom-made DIY enclosure to improve cockpit protection for future blue-water passages. Brett is simultaneously reinstalling the alternator and upgrading the regulator, a project that has exceeded his initial time estimates. The boat’s washing machine is currently inoperable after a charcoal water filter disintegrated and clogged the hoses, forcing the crew to use marina laundry facilities. The pair also reports on their experience with Mediterranean mooring, noting the lack of neighbors at their current slip. They are training their dog, Dingo, to loose-leash walk, transitioning him from his previous role as a service animal.
