The owners of a homebuilt catamaran are performing cabin-top surface preparation and interior finishing as they progress toward completion. The current exterior work involves sanding the cabin top with 180-grit sandpaper to remove the gel coat shine, followed by applying Alexseal Finish Primer.1:42 The crew uses a vacuum-connected sander to manage dust and plans to use Dykem to identify low spots for fairing before final painting.1:48
Interior progress includes painting galley cabinets and storage areas with TotalBoat Wet Edge, transitioning from matte finishes to high-gloss white.
