Steve delivers a new Lagoon 46, named Kiwi Spirit, from Les Sables-d'Olonne to Santander, Spain, while providing eight days of onboard instruction to owners Stu and Jan.1:11 The delivery begins with a shakedown cruise south along the French coast, including an anchorage at Ile de Re and a stop at Ile d'Oleron.2:54 During the passage across the Bay of Biscay, the crew practices man overboard drills and relies on AIS to navigate commercial traffic in calm, following winds.3:56 Upon reaching the Spanish coast, the vessel enters Bilbao for berthing and mooring practice.7:09 Due to headwinds, the crew diverts from the original plan to stop in Santonia, utilizing its sheltered bay for an overnight anchorage before completing the final leg to Santander.8:30 The Lagoon 46 demonstrates consistent performance throughout the transit, allowing the owners to refine their pilotage and docking techniques in diverse harbor conditions before continuing their voyage toward the Mediterranean.9:24
