The crew of the 45-foot sailboat Zephyr performs routine maintenance on their ground tackle and interior flooring while in a U.S. marina. They reverse 250 feet of 3/8-inch Acco G43 high-test chain to utilize the unused end, as the working section shows premature rust after two years.7:41 They remark the chain in 25-foot increments using a color-coded system and inspect a Mantis swivel, which remains in good condition after five years of use.1:42 The crew secures the swivel pin with seizing wire to prevent accidental release.7:10 Additionally, they replace damaged vinyl stick-on floor tiles in the galley, noting that heating the adhesive with a hair dryer simplifies the removal process and protects the underlying wood.12:10 Finally, the crew orders a replacement water tank directly through the Beneteau spare parts system for $444 to resolve persistent leaks.12:48 Turning the anchor chain and using high-quality, over-engineered swivels ensures long-term reliability for ground tackle.
