O que este vídeo aborda

During a weekend lockdown in Grenada, the crew of the Hunter 42 Jibsea constructs custom dinghy chaps to protect their inflatable boat from UV damage.0:41 Using inexpensive, non-Sunbrella fabric, the project involves measuring the tube diameter, cutting panels to 30-by-60-inch dimensions, and using double-sided adhesive tape to hold seams in place before sewing.3:29 To secure the chaps, the crew drills holes through the dinghy’s external rub rail and ties the fabric down with string, while tucking the inner edges between the hull and the tubes.13:49 The project takes three days to complete, including the addition of reinforced patches around handles and oar locks.12:13 The crew also utilizes leftover canvas to sew storage pouches for instrument covers, cell phones, and sunglasses, as well as a custom insert for the cockpit cup holder.17:09 While the inexpensive fabric may require replacement within a year, the chaps provide a functional, low-cost prototype for future projects using higher-grade materials.8:29
