Skagen Race 2025: Fresh beat towards Skagen

What this video covers
The 2025 Skagen Race fleet faced light, shifting winds at the start near Holmestrand, followed by a fresh beat toward Skagen. A localized weather phenomenon known as the "Sandeskyen" killed the wind ten minutes before the start, but a sudden southeasterly breeze allowed boats to cross the line with good speed. Mika, helmed by Waller, secured the best start by positioning to leeward, while Hyrukin and Flux were forced to restart after being luffed over the line. Near Horten, Game and the Dehler 44 Offcourse led the fleet, closely followed by Hyrukin and Mika. The TP52, identified as Wolfpack on AIS, Jokerman on the hull, and F-16 in the program, maintained a three-knot speed advantage over the rest of the fleet while sailing outside Bastø. As the wind shifted from southeast to southwest near Horten, boats that hugged the coast gained a significant tactical advantage over those positioned too far north.
