The Dehler Yachts 42 is a 12.8-meter fractional sloop designed by Judel, Vrolijk, Co. and built by Dehler Yachts since 2016. It features a fin with bulb and spade rudder hull, displaces 9100 kg, and has a standard draft of 2.1 meters. The model offers competition and shallow draft variants, with corresponding changes in displacement, ballast, mast height, and sail area. Dehler Yachts launched the 42 in 2016, preceding the Dehler 34, as part of a shipyard shift towards modern aesthetics and updated design standards.0:14 The design incorporates a carbon fiber structural grid, called a spider, for hull rigidity, and a wide overlap hull-to-deck joint to prevent structural torsion and creaking.2:16
