The Maxi Yachts 33 is a 9.9-meter sailboat designed by Pelle Petterson and built by Maxi Yachts between 1986 and 1991, based on the MAXI 999 design but with a shallower 1.4-meter draft. It features a fin keel with a spade rudder, a 3.2-meter beam, and displaces 4500 kg. Aboard RAN Sailing, a 1988–1989 model Maxi 33 provided a family with a spacious layout, including a stern cabin, for cruising the Swedish archipelago.12:49 The crew utilized stern anchors and lines ashore to moor against rocks in locations such as Lilla Kalvholmen and Hallstena.7:39 They navigated narrow sounds and lagoons, adjusting their route to find shelter from shifting winds and increasing gusts.19:41
